How to choose a wireless charger manufacturer in China: a 10-point checklist

Factory or trading company? Real certificates or borrowed ones? Ten checks that separate a reliable supplier from an expensive lesson.

Shenzhen has hundreds of companies selling wireless chargers. Many are trading companies; some are real factories; a few are both. These ten checks help you tell them apart before the first deposit.

The checklist

  • 1. In-house production: ask what they do themselves — tooling, SMT, assembly — and what they outsource.
  • 2. Certificates you can verify: Qi or Qi2 listings in the WPC database, plus FCC, CE, RoHS and, for power banks, UN38.3.
  • 3. Reports in your name: can Qi, FCC and CE reports be issued under your company?
  • 4. Samples before the order: functional samples within 7–10 days is a good benchmark.
  • 5. Written QC standard: AQL level, in-line functional testing, burn-in for batteries.
  • 6. A photo report before shipment, plus a carton drop test.
  • 7. Real capacity: monthly output, and lead times quoted against their own floor.
  • 8. Clear MOQ per model and per colour.
  • 9. Who owns the mould on ODM projects — put it in the contract.
  • 10. Reply speed and quality: an engineer who answers technical questions in one business day.

Ask for a factory visit or video tour

A live video walk-through of the SMT and assembly lines takes twenty minutes and answers most questions about whether you are talking to the factory.

How we answer the list

Tooling, SMT and assembly sit under one roof in Bao'an, Shenzhen. We run AQL 2.5 inspection, in-line testing on every unit and 100% burn-in on power banks, and we reply to every inquiry within one business day.

Questions to ask on the first call

  • Which production steps do you run yourselves, and how many lines?
  • Which of these models have Qi or Qi2 listings in the WPC database?
  • What AQL level do you inspect at, and do you test every unit?
  • What is your current monthly output, and the lead time for 1,000 pcs?
  • Who answers technical questions after the order?

Factory, trading company, or both?

A trading company is not automatically a bad choice — it can bundle many categories in one order. But for wireless chargers, where certification and heat management decide quality, talking directly to the team that runs SMT and assembly shortens every fix. See our factory, our certificates, and how to verify a Qi certificate.

Frequently asked questions

How can I tell a factory from a trading company?
Ask for a live video tour of the SMT and assembly lines, and check that the certificates and the business licence name the same company.
What AQL level is common for consumer electronics?
AQL 2.5 for major defects is a common inspection level for consumer electronics.
How long should samples take?
For an existing model with your logo, 7–10 days is a reasonable benchmark.
Should I visit the factory before the first order?
A visit is ideal for large programmes; a live video tour is a quick first check.
